In celebration of Sundowners 30th Anniversary there were 3 recipients of this year’s Neil J. MacPhee Award of Excellence:
Our first recipient is Mandy Renaud, Cook at Holy Cross. Mandy joined the Sundowners team in 1998. Currently she is at Holy Cross where she provides well-balanced healthy meals and snacks that fuel the children during their busy days at Sundowners. Mandy has also been recognized by her Supervisor and colleagues for all the extra things she does to help out around the centre, taking new families on tour while other staff are busy. Mandy is always pleasant and welcoming and is an important part of the Sundowners team. Congratulations!
Our next recipient is Crystal Labbee, RECE at Forest Glade PLC. Crystal joined the Sundowners team in 2003 and has worked at many of our locations but has settled at Forest Glade PLC working with the school age children. Crystal is recognized by her colleagues as an excellent team worker and is always open to discussing ideas and improving the programs for children. She has also involved parents in special projects their children are working on such as Father’s Day Celebrations and the end of the year B.B.Q with games that include the whole family. She is open-minded, thoughtful, willing to help out and brings forward lots of suggestions, ideas and plans. Crystal is an asset to the Sundowners organization. Congratulations!
Our last recipient is Mary-Kay Savage, Supervisor, RECE at Talbot Trail as well as Roseland and Forest Glade PLC. Mary-Kay is celebrating her 30th Anniversary year in child care and has served at Sundowners since 1998. Mary-Kay has worked at several Sundowners locations throughout the years and some of her accomplishments include the implementation of a “Stay & Play” at OLPH for parents and children. She has also assisted with the opening of a new “extended day” program at our John Campbell location. Mary-Kay always takes the extra step, willing to assist where and whenever needed and represents Sundowners with the upmost professionalism, integrity and standards. She is positive, leads by example, demonstrates good character, common sense and goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She is a wonderful asset to the management team and to the organization. Congratulations!
