Beach Butterflies
You need:
- Matching pair of small or medium-size clean, dry mussel, clam, or oyster shells
- Hot glue gun
- Pipe cleaner
- Acrylic or Puffy paint
What to Do:
Hot glue the hinged edges together (parent’s job), creating a strong bond. Then bend a 6-inch pipe cleaner length into a V and curl the tips to create antennae. Hot glue the base of the V to the top of the glued joint. Now flip over the butterfly, and your child can use acrylic or puffy paint to adorn the inner shells with a distinctive wing pattern.
