Sidewalk Chalk Sticks
This kind of chalk works fine on concrete, but not very well on a regular chalkboard. Make your chalk outdoors, and then you won’t have a big mess to worry about.
You need:
- 4-6 washed and dried egg shells
- 1 teaspoon of flour
- 1 teaspoon of very hot tap water
Take the eggshells outside and smash or break them up until they are powdery. Scoop the powdered shells into a small bowl or dish. Put the flour in another bowl, add the water and mix into a paste and then add 1 teaspoon of eggshell powder. Keep mashing together until the mixture sticks together. Put the dough into your hand and roll it into a chalk stick shape. Wrap it tightly with paper towel. Let the stick of chalk dry for 2-3 days until it has dried and hardened. Then you can use it on the sidewalk to draw pictures or play hopscotch. Use the bottom of your shoe, or the rain as an eraser.
